Bematech Releases KDS Manager Software Update
Bematech is pleased to announce the immediate availability of KDS Manager 3.0. This release is the result of a combined effort of Bematech’s own Engineers as well as the software’s valuable users – Bematech Software Partners – who have delivered significant feedback to improve efficiency of the food preparation process in the Kitchen.
With the support of new preparation time features, KDS Manager is ready to support the Fine Dining industry in addition to Quick Service Restaurants.
Split Mode
- Station Screen can be split to support 2 different destinations for orders. For instance, Top screen can be sent to the Grill Preparation station, while the bottom screen will receive items for the Bar.
Order Sorting
- Orders on the screen can be sorted now by different criteria (Order Number, Waiting Time, Number of items in order), automatically or manually (on-the-fly by the chef/cook).
Smart Order
- Item preparation time is implemented, offering a complete solution to Fine Dining Restaurants. Prepare dishes ready on time, a powerful and customizable feature allowing you to have delay time for Categories and Preparation Time allocated at each individual item. When an item is not ready to be prepared it will appear dimmed on the screen.
One-Item Behind
- Order items now can be shown in the screen right away (on-the-fly), one-item behind or when order is paid.
TCP/IP Interface
- A different way for Point-of-Sale Applications to interface with our Kitchen Display System. In addition to the file drop mechanism, POS terminals can now use tcp socket operations to connect to the KDS.
LS9000 Printing Speed Improved
- With a LS9000 controller you can boost up your kitchen printing either using a serial or USB port connected to the Printer.
Default Station for Orders
- If the item routing is not specified in the filter (or in the XML file), KDS Manager will send the order to the default station, this way, items not previously configured in the database will be shown on the kitchen screen.

Bematech Is On the Move
Bematech has announced it will relocate their North American office, officially May 21st. The move is a reflection of the company’s international expansion over the course of 2 years. The new space will accommodate increased inventory, a larger Research and Development Department and overall greater demand for Bematech’s leading POS and KDS hardware.
Bematech’s North American office will occupy a newly renovated space in the Bethpage Business Park, in Bethpage, New York. The property, previously owned by the Navy housing military aircrafts, was purchased by Steel Equities in 2008. The contractor for Bematech’s building has invested all of their resources into the renovation of the new facility in an effort to attract more businesses to the Industrial Park. Bematech’s building will be used as the prototype for development in the surrounding area.
Bematech’s move to the Industrial Park reflects an increased involvement in the Business Community of Nassau County, New York. This space will allow Bematech’s business to grow in the United States, and in turn, generate more employment opportunities and contribute to local economic growth.
The new building will enable Bematech to showcase new technology to the public and host larger partner conferences, underlining the company’s commitment to improve service to its clients. Production staff will have improved working spaces to aid in delivering even better product quality and reliability. The warehouse will be larger and more controlled, which will help expedite product delivery. The overall efficiency of Bematech’s business is expected to increase, facilitating more growth and industry demand for Bematech products throughout 2012.

If you currently own an LC8200, LC8600, or an LC8700 please be aware that the power adapter for these products are 12 volts. If you use any of our Retail Hardened Computers with your POS system note that the 3 pin adapter for most printers will fit into our Retail Hardened computer. It is important that you do not plug that power adapter for your printer into our LC Series Units because it is a 24 Volt power adapter, and not the appropriate 12 Volt power adapter.
